IBC SOLAR establishes regional company in South Africa
Bad Staffelstein/Cape Town, 23 January 2017 – IBC SOLAR AG, a leading global system house for photovoltaics (PV) and energy storage systems, is now active in the growth market of South Africa with its own regional company. IBC SOLAR has been working together exclusively with its partner maxx | solar energy (Pty) Ltd. in the South African market since 2014. The new company IBC SOLAR South Africa (Pty) Ltd. with headquarters in Cape Town has now been formed in conjunction with maxx | solar energy.
IBC SOLAR has been active in South Africa for many years and has already successfully implemented numerous projects with maxx | solar energy. IBC SOLAR South Africa now offers its customers a perfect combination: Over 30 years of experience in planning and implementing PV systems of all sizes combined with a local partner that is familiar with the South African market and has access to a significant network of well-trained PV installers in South Africa.
Albert Engelbrecht and Dieter Ortmann represent the Management Board of IBC SOLAR South Africa. Mr Engelbrecht is responsible for the IBC SOLAR international distribution business as Director Solutions International. Mr Ortmann is Managing Director of maxx | solar energy.
“The South African PV market has substantial growth potential. Solar power is now cheaper than electricity from the grid. This results, in particular, in a great need for self-consumption and storage systems for private households and the commercial sector,” explains Albert Engelbrecht.
Dieter Ortmann adds: “I look forward to further increasing the presence of IBC SOLAR in South Africa. In addition to being a traditional trading company with systems and components, the focus of our business is primarily on consulting, planning and implementing diesel hybrid, off-grid and storage systems.”
The regional company in South Africa is currently the ninth for IBC SOLAR. The company is active in over 30 countries worldwide.
